World Health Organisation and The Lancet Commission

I've spent the last couple of days listening to climate scientists discussing the urgency of Sea-Level Rise in the Asia-Pacific region and other regions, and trying to weave together various working groups in order to streamline their story for a Lancet Commission.

I can't show the whole thing, but here are some snippets. The full commission will be out in a couple of years, which I can't help thinking is way too long, as this matter is so urgent. Huge numbers of displaced people will be needing support in the coming years, and we're not reacting quickly enough.

 

UCL - live digital scribing

Some recent live scribing work to amplify the work of the: UCL Policy Commission on Mapping, Governing and Implementing City Action for Nature, Climate and Health (MAGI Commission)

This meeting brought various lead stakeholders from 3 inner London boroughs to try and map strengths and see the gaps and vulnerabilities in their assets, with the encroaching effects of climate change that we're increasingly experiencing.

This project is connected to one of the Grand Challenges that UCL has committed to, this one being to address Climate Change. More on the MAGI is found here:

Citizens Assembly on Climate Change

The summary findings from Herefordshire's assembly I've drawn up here, in the form of Transport, Land-Use and Buildings. Amazing how many ideas were generated and voted on over one weekend on Zoom!

There were a lot of calls for education on biodiversity, community support, and broader funding for all sorts of schemes, from retrofitting to decarbonising community transport. I really hope that as much as possible of this comes to fruition.

Climate Change Citizens Assembly - Herefordshire

A week ago I worked for Herefordshire council to capture the talks and discussions surrounding a Citizens' Assembly, subject: Climate Change.

Big subject, wide-ranging views and information out there - bottom line: we need to act NOW as Climate change is happening already. It may be a case of trying to limit the damage rather than trying to stop it going any further. It's got to be as urgently address as the recent COVID pandemic, it's that serious and the effects as wide-ranging.

RSPB - short film to promote a new membership scheme

I was commissioned by the NCP: https://www.newcitizenship.org.uk/ to bring to life the future view of the RSPB membership after consulting with groups across the UK over the last 18 months.

This was made into a short film to animate the voices and ideas for the future.
