Online Scribing, Healthcare Educators

This summer I was asked to scribe this meeting remotely, so I was working on my Ipad, and the meeting was held online. This was all about educators in teaching hospitals and whether they had the support they needed in order to deliver the training for the next generation of healthcare professionals. 

Basically, if there is no protected time (or space) then you end up sitting in a cupboard to join the online meeting and not having a lunch break (it's that bad..)

Radiation Services, The North West

 I was asked to create an explainer poster for the radiographers in the North West of England. 

The region is struggling to recruit and retain staff, so I'm hoping this assists them explain their vision for their new ways of working.

Allied Health Professionals Educator Career Framework - Appreciative Inquiry

This was for a university (Winchester, Canterbury and Southampton) and NHS collaboration, it was an online stakeholder consultation helping to create a formal framework within health education. 

The thing that gave it a real lift was by using the Appreciative Inquiry process, led by Andy Smith https://coachingleaders.co.uk He really created a space for people to explore new ideas and feel supported, and people seemed genuinely inspired and energised by the day, plus the event commissioners have a huge amount of ideas to take forward.

The aim is to focus on what went right and to amplify and build on that. This positive approach is very infectious and uplifting!

 

This all might sound slightly 'niche', but all these trainee health professionals will be helped to learn better in order to do better jobs when they're released into the NHS, so it's important!

Crohns and Colitis Posters with Sheffield Hospital

These 4 posters are a recent commission by Sheffield Hospital to showcase a co-production project between the medics and patients of a particular department within this hospital. The department was Crohns disease and Colitis, both forms of inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD.

This shows the role of this particular patient who also acted as a coach and go-between because she has lived experience of IBD and is also a coach of clinicians.

This poster depicts (symbolically!) the unusual ways of working that the group leapt into, in order to think differently and come to new solutions.

This poster was about their changed approach and how they reached out much more into community settings to find people to partner with.

And here they just wanted to say: despite not yet having the quantitive data, that they gained a lot from the process and were really glad they took part!
