London Graphic Recording - Resolution Foundation and UCL

Complex and interesting afternoon - exploring the multiple inequalities in the UK today, and how it is affecting health, housing, education and work throughout people's lives. This was a research project commissioned by UCL and the Resolution Foundation.

London Graphic Recording - Hackney ACEs Workshop

Quite an emotional meeting - how Adverse Childhood Experiences reverberate through life, and how many amazing people are trying to help ease people's suffering. This was held by the Public Health team in Hackney over the summer.

School for CEOs - Graphic Recording, London

Some recent work for The School for CEOs involved a photographer documenting the day, and for once he got me talking to the group - it's usually just the back of my head on display!

Runway is a training programme and interactive workshop for managers that the school teaches several times a year in London and Edinburgh.

Thanks to the School for CEOs for sharing:

Hackney CCG - Graphic Recording London

This was an away day for Hackney CCG to focus on their journey so far and where they want to focus their energies. I was there to capture the meeting as it unfolded.

The challenge is that it's a very complicated structure, and the event was also a process of looking back and then forward to what the future will hold - so I did my best to capture it all!

Public Health England - Graphic Recording in London

Had a really fun and inspiring day with the staff at Public Health England. I was there to capture the spirit and energy of the day, and to make it even more memorable post-event.

CLAHRC Ten Year Anniversary

A deceptively simple leaflet co-designed with Rachel Matthews and her team at CLAHRC Northwest London.

It's the end of an era, but they're celebration day is next week. I hope they manage to keep in touch and remember all their fantastic achievements!

Strengths Based Social care - Illustration London

A pleasant change - the chance to not just capture live but reflect and think a bit more about the subject.

These drawings were developed and turned into a booklet for social workers in Wandsworth to help them focus on the positives in people's lives, all the things they can do and all the great people they have around them.

Great Ormond Street Hospital London - Graphic Recording

Slightly crammed graphic with about 25 medical talks on the second image but some amazing work being practiced by the team at Great Ormond Street - including pioneering surgery: operating on the spine of a child still in the womb, to improve a baby's chances with spina bifida.

Dance Dialogues - Trinity Laban Centre London, Graphic Recording

I never thought I'd be drawing about dance, but that's the joy of this job - you never know what's around the corner!

We Make Camden - Graphic Recording in London

Had a wonderful day in Camden recently - capturing a huge amount of energy, diversity and fun with all that Camden offers.

Very inspiring event organised by the council, and visited by Sir Kier Starmer who told those present to "Applaud yourselves!"
So true.

Healthy Weight Hackney - London Scribing

Had a great day recently in Hackney, this was a multi-agency meeting to create a 'movement' to inspire and promote healthy lives in Hackney.

The council wanted stories and input from local people in order to get to the heart of what will motivate people and what the real drivers are. I was there to capture the energy and ideas on the day, and as a starting point to build on.

Scribing at Peckham Levels, London

This week I was working at a great venue, a regenerated car park in south London:

https://www.peckhamlevels.org/

This was for Southwark council. They wanted to get closer to families and find out what 'helped' and what got in the way, as well as how parents/carers and their children can get more involved and shape the services they need.

I started by putting up the title...

and the evening was a bit of a whirlwind so only managed another pic right at the end!

Thanks to Beatrice Baumgartner-Cohen for the referral.

A change from drawing live - some work explaining what this charity does:

Thanks to https://www.inclusionlondon.org.uk/ for recommending me.

Here is a timeline I did for Inclusion London last year, a lot has happened over the years!

New Citizenship Project & Bath University, Live Graphic Recording

I was asked to capture a fast-paced workshop at the University of Bath for the very engaged and passionate organisation 'New Citizenship Project':

They used an 'appreciative enquiry' approach in order to dig deep and find out about what motivated people to get involved in the student union and how the students would like to shape things in future.

It was great to hear from the next generation and there were many very inspiring and uplifting stories!

Thanks to the NCP for asking me to get involved.
