Continuous learning and improvement at Cafcass

I have worked at the internal training event every year at Cafcass for the past five years. Every year is more ambitious! 5 intense days of learning, and for me, lots of digital drawing.

Here is a selection from this year, starting with the overarching themes:

And some of the individual sessions:

Phew, it's over for another year...but more roadshows, logo designs and workshops in the coming months. The need to keep developing never stops!

Police and Crime Commissioners' Event, Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands Region

This was a VAWG (Violence against Women and Girls) centred event. There were PCCs for the region as well as many local charities present. Jess Phillips MP sent a video and other MPs were present, plus personal testimonies were given from survivors of domestic abuse

It was very moving and powerful day.

I acted as a live graphic facilitator to capture the main points and create a memorable image to keep the work going. As one delegate said to me: "this is never going to go away."

And a big thank you to Angela Kandola, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire for asking me to scribe at this event.

UCL - live digital scribing

Some recent live scribing work to amplify the work of the: UCL Policy Commission on Mapping, Governing and Implementing City Action for Nature, Climate and Health (MAGI Commission)

This meeting brought various lead stakeholders from 3 inner London boroughs to try and map strengths and see the gaps and vulnerabilities in their assets, with the encroaching effects of climate change that we're increasingly experiencing.

This project is connected to one of the Grand Challenges that UCL has committed to, this one being to address Climate Change. More on the MAGI is found here:

With thanks to: Prof Catalina Turcu, Academic Lead (Professor of Sustainable Built Environment at the Bartlett School of Planning and founder of the UCL SDG Research Accelerator), Katherine Welch, Knowledge Exchange Lead (UCL Public Policy, Deputy Director of External Engagements and Partnerships) Dr SinĂ©ad Murphy, Commission Coordinator (UCL Public Policy, Policy Engagement Coordinator) and Daisy Forster Impact Reporting and Communications Coordinator, UCL.

Drawings for Merton CIL

A couple of portraits and updates to the finances for Merton Centre for Independent Living (Merton CIL for short). Charlet Wilson and her wonderful team do so much amazing work for this small grass roots disability charity in South West London.
